Emmy and Tony award-winning Colman Domingo is a man who dons many hats, including actor, producer, director, and more. He has recently gained time in the spotlight with his stellar performances in The Color Purple and Rustin, where he portrayed civil rights activist Bayard Rustin in his first feature lead role. Next up, Domingo stars in the Greg Kwedar-directed Sing Sing.
The official trailer for Sing Sing was recently released, which shed more light on the movie based on the Rehabilitation Through the Arts program conducted at Sing Sing maximum-security prison. The movie focuses on a small group of prisoners who started the theater portion of the program and staged an original production, "Breakin' The Mummy's Code."
Sing Sing was picked up by A24 at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival and is scheduled for a July 2024 theatrical release.
The movie is based on "The Sing Sing Follies" by John H. Richarson and stars actors Domingo and Paul Raci, but several of the characters in the film are portrayed by former prisoners who participated in the program during their incarceration.

He will also portray singer, jazz pianist, and actor Nat King Cole in an untitled movie of which Domingo co-wrote the script.
Domingo portrayed Victor Strand in Fear the Walking Dead for the entire eight-season run, which ended in 2023.
