USA Network released an exciting new legal drama, The Rainmaker, in August. The series is based on a John Grisham novel that was first made into a movie in the 90s starring Matt Damon. One highlight for Walking Dead fans is that Dan Fogler, who portrayed Luke, appears in the series.

According to USA Network the series uses Grisham's same-titled 1995 novel as source material, but does take some liberties by altering some of the details. The 10-part series is produced by Lionsgate Television and Blumhouse Television. Showrunner Michael Seitzman serves as an executive producer with Grisham, Patrick Moran, Jason Richman, David Gernert, and Jason Blum.

Seitzman has stated that Milo Callaghan, who portrays Rudy Baylor, "is your next crush." Rudy is a law school grad who gets fired on his first day working for power-house lawyer Leo Drummond, played by John Slattery. This forces him to work for the tough and talented Brusier (Lana Parrilla) and they are joined by a disheveled paralegal Deck (P.J. Byrne).

The series also stars Fogler, Madison Iseman, Wade Briggs, and Robyn Cara with recurring roles by Karen Byrson, Tommie Earl Jenkins, and Hugh Quarshie.

Below is the official trailer which features action inside and outside of the courtroom. Brusier references the title idiom, which refers to a lawyer who wins a major case bringing a large sum of money, in the trailer stating, "If you want to screw the people who screwed our client, what are you willing to do to be a rainmaker?"

Watch The Rainmaker now with new episodes premiering on USA Network on Fridays through the season finale on October 17. Episodes are then available one week later on Peacock.

Fogler joined The Walking Dead after the season 9 time jump as Luke, a member of what is known as Magna's (Nadia Hilker) group, which also included Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) and sisters, Connie (Lauren Ridloff) and Kelly (Angel Theory). Luke sadly met his maker in the final season of the series.

The actor is well known for his role as Jacob Kowalski in the Wizarding World franchise prequel films Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. He has also earned fame from his roles in Balls of Fury and Good Luck Chuck.

More recently, Fogler has appeared in several impressive titles, including the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, Netflix original Eric, and portrayed Francis Ford Coppola in the Paramount+ series The Offer. He also portrayed the Apothecary in a bold reimagining of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers' story in the musical film Juliet & Romeo, available via VOD on Prime Video.

Fogler has also been cast in the third season of the Games of Throne prequel House of the Dragon. He will portray Ser Torrhen Manderly and was announced for the series with Tommy Flanagan, of Sons of Anarchy, who will portray Ser Roderick Dustin. The third season of House of the Dragon is expected to premiere in 2026 on HBO and HBO Max.
