Walking Dead's Cassady McClincy Zhang was recently announced for the new indie drama Out Come the Wolves based on Rancid's same-titled album. In 2022, she starred in another indie film, The Snare, which will premiere at this year's Cinequest Festival.

The festival will take place March 11-23 in San Jose and Redwood City, California. According to the event site, Cinequest empowers, discovers, and showcases great film, media, creativity, and technology and engages artists and their creations with audiences—forging community, illumination, and joy.

The Snare is the directorial debut of Merlin Camozzi, who also wrote the film. He is known for Coeur D'Alene (2016) and Flesh and Blood (2016). William Kay , Nina Mishkin , Lesley Wright , Jesse Russell and DJ Dodd serve as executive producers.

The movie follows Dani, a high school who longs to attend college via a scholarship she has received despite juggling school, a part-time job, caring for her brother, and more. Her dreams are shattered after trying to protect her brother is caught by law enforcement with an insignificant amount of drugs. The police force her to work as an informant, using her scholarship as leverage to capture a more important criminal or face jail time.

Who was Lydia in The Walking Dead?

McClincy portrayed a deeply traumatized girl named Lydia in The Walking Dead, the daughter of Alpha (Samantha Morton), leader of the skin-wearing Whisperers. Her mother brainwashed her into believing that she wanted the best for her daughter. After spending time in the communities, she realized breaking from her mother would result in a much better life.

Lydia's storyline in the main series featured many flashbacks giving insight to her life before her story aligned with the surviviors of TWD. While much was shown about what transpired after the outbreak, it wouldn't be until the Tales of the Walking Dead's second episode "Dee," that viewers learned much more about Lydia and her mother.

The flashbacks featured in TWD were from Lydia's POV as a child and these memories were fractured and hazy, as memories from a young age can be. But Lydia's recollection of what occurred featured her mother as the savior and her father as the abuser, which was far from the truth.

Lydia survived through the conclusion of The Walking Dead where she found happiness with her found family and a loving relationship with Elijah (Okea Eme-Awkari).

McClincy is also known for her roles in Do Revenge, Castle Rock, Poor Jane, Love, Simon, Ozark, and more.
