Fans of The Walking Dead were thrilled to see Seth Gilliam reprise his role as Father Gabriel in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Gabriel was featured in flashback scenes with Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh), which fleshed out their relationship. Now, Deadline reports that Gilliam has secured his next role in a paranormal thriller, Stakeout.
The new movie is from director Micah Kahn and is adapted from his short film, which he produced with Natalie Stavola, Katrina Kearns (I Feel Fine), Victoria Diana (Books), and Francesco Cordero. Khan and Stavola are developing three features: Stakeout, The Captain, and The Last Farm.
Gilliam will star with Doomsday actress and creator Sonja O'Hara in a story about two detectives hunting down a brutal serial killer. Set in a world experiencing a vampire epidemic, this story will be told in multiple features. Filming for the movie should begin sometime in 2025.
Stakeout will reunite Kahn and Gilliam, who previously starred in Kahn's directorial debut, The Zombie Wedding, in which Gilliam fittingly portrayed Reverend Harry Crump. The movie is based on an interactive play and features the first human/zombie wedding. The Wedding Zombie streams on Tubi and is available via VOD on Prime Video.
Seth Gilliam - other roles
Recently, Gilliam starred in a psychological thriller written, directed, and produced by Maria Capp (Four Cousins & a Christmas) titled The Lady of the Lake. The story is based on lore surrounding Lake Ronkonkoma, the biggest and deepest lake on Long Island. Native Americans believed the lake to be bottomless, and the legends surrounding it differ, but generally surround Native American Princess Ronkonkoma. She experienced forbidden love, which her father, chief of the Setauket tribe, disapproved. This led to her death, by her own hand, in the depths of the lake. According to the legend, she reappears each year to drown a male victim. The Lady of the Lake is streaming on Prime Video.

As mentioned above, Gilliam returned to The Walking Dead universe in the Rick and Michonne spinoff, The Ones Who Live. Gilliam appeared in flashback scenes as Father Gabriel, who had secret meetings with Jadis during TWD timeline. One year, the duo would meet, and each time, Gabriel tried to talk her into returning to the communities with him. The Ones Who Live is streaming on Netflix.
In 2023, Gilliam returned to the Teen Wolf franchise in Teen Wolf: The Movie. He reprised his role as Alan Deaton and is joined by fellow TWD alum Melissa Ponzio (who played Karen in season 3 of TWD) reprising her role as Melissa McCall. Both actors appeared in episodes of the Teen Wolf series throughout its six-season run. Teen Wolf: The Movie streams on Paramount+.
In 2022, Gilliam starred in a play, The War of Woo, a black comedy written by Dean Haspiel, an award-winning writer, artist, and cartoonist.
