Fear the Walking Dead is a post-apocalyptic drama series created by Walking Dead comic creator Robert Kirkman and writer Dave Erickson that airs on AMC and AMC+. The story was established within The Walking Dead universe as a companion to the main series. Throughout the eight seasons, the series featured many talented actors. Which ones were part of the main cast?
Kim Dickens - Madison Clark
Madison Clark was portrayed by Kim Dickens, and she starred in the series seasons 1-4 and would return for seasons 7 and 8. Madison was a fan favorite, and viewers were delighted that she returned before the series ended in 2023.
Dickens is well known for her roles in Deadwood, Hollow Man, Gone Girl, The Good Nurse, and more. Next, she will star in a Prime Video series, The Better Sister, which also stars Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks.
Frank Dillane - Nick Clark
Nick Clark was portrayed by Frank Dillane. He is the son of Madison, who battled with drug addiction before the outbreak but became a brave and productive member of the survivors. Another fan-favorite, Nick, appeared in the series from the pilot until his death in season 4.
Dillane is known for his roles in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, In the Heart of the Sea, The Essex Serpent, Renegade Nell, and more. Most recently, he starred alongside Sophia Turner in the Britbox series Joan. Next, he will star with Harry Melling and Caleb Landry Jones in Harvest, which will be released in 2025, and star in the directorial debut of Harris Dickinson, Urchin.
Alycia Debnam-Carey - Alicia Clark
Alicia Clark was portrayed by Alycia Debnam-Carey. She is the daughter of Madison who appeared in the series for all eight seasons. She became quite the survivor throughout her storyline and is another character who was a fan-favorite among viewers.
Debnam-Carey currently stars in the Netflix original Apple Cider Vinegar with Kaitlyn Dever. She is well known for her role as Lexa in The 100 and has also stared in Saint X, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, and What's Inside. In April 2025 she will star with fellow FTWD cast members Austin Amelio and Colby Minifie in a short titled Lovebug. She has also been cast in a comedy, Liked with Sam Lerner, Jack DePew, Logan Paul, and Virginia Gardner.
Colman Domingo - Victor Strand
Victor Strand was portrayed by actor Colman Domingo and is another character featured for the entire eight seasons. Always a con man, Victor did have his redemption moments and has been praised for his portrayal of Victor during the height of his villainy.
Domingo's name is tied to a vast number of recent projects, including The Madness, Sing Sing, Rustin, Drive-Away Dolls, The Color Purple, and many more. He also has several upcoming projects, including Michael, The Running Man, The Four Seasons, The Electric State, and the Untitled Steven Spielberg Amblin Universal Event Film. He will also write, direct, and star in a biopic about music icon Nat King Cole. Fans of his character, Ali, will be happy to know he will star in the third season of Euphoria.
Lennie James - Morgan Jones
Morgan Jones, the first crossover character within TWD universe, was portrayed by Lennie James. Morgan's story began in the pilot of the main series and would then move to FTWD during that series' fourth season. He would remain a main character until season 8. Morgan experienced many ups and downs but in the end had a semi-happy ending leaving in search of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) with his daughter Mo (Zoey Merchant).
James currently stars as Barrington Walker in the British TV series Mr. Loverman, and on Feb. 20, fans can see him in the Prime Video musical fantasy movie The End. He also voiced the father of Mufasa, Obasi, in Mufasa: The Lion King. James has been cast in the fourth season of The Mayor of Kingstown and is well known for his roles in Snatch and Save Me.
Jenna Elfman - June Dorie
June Dorie was portrayed by Jenna Elfman who joined the cast in season 4. June was the wife of the late John Dorie (Garrett Dillahunt), who survived until the series finale. June was an intelligent and independent woman whose medical training proved vital to many.
Elfman is best known for her role in the long-running series Dharma & Greg and gained a cult following for her uncredited role as The Angel in teen rom-com Can't Hardly Wait. She has also starred in Keeping the Faither, Friend with Benefits, Barry, Growing Up Fisher, and more. Recently, she appeared in season 2 of Will Trent, season 1 of Tim Allen's Shifting Gears, which also stars fellow FTWD actor Daryl Mitchell, and on March 9, will star in the fourth season of AMC's Dark Winds.
Rubén Blades - Daniel Salazar
Daniel Salazar was portrayed by Rubén Blades and appeared in the series for all eight seasons. A former secret agent of Salvadoran Junta and CIA prepared Daniel for the apocalypse. His training and past experiences, which haunted him, benefited him and the survivors he aligned himself with.
Blades is well known for his roles in Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Color of Night, The Counselor, Predator 2, and more. Blades is also an award-winning musician and songwriter who has written dozens of hit songs. He has won twelve Grammys, of the 20 he was nominated for, and twelve Latin Grammys.
Karen David - Grace
Grace Mukherjee was portrayed by Karen David. Her story began in season 5 and extended until her death in season 8. Grace was a former nuclear power plant employee who becomes romantically involved with Morgan and they adopted baby Mo.
David has numerous credits to her name, including Galavant, Once Upon a Time, Barry, Mira, Royal Detective, Legacies, and more. In 2023, she began her portrayal of Rose Dinshaw in NBC's series The Irrational, which also stars Jesse L. Martin, Maahra Hill, Arash De Maxi, Molly Kunz, and Travina Springer. The second season finale will air on NBC on Feb. 25. David has been cast in Prime Video's We Are Liars and will appear in Christopher Rodriguez Marquette's comedy short with fellow TWDU actors Dan Fogler and Alexandra Breckenridge, Cast Away Sorta.
Danay Garcia - Luciana
Luciana Galvez was portrayed by Danay Garcia from seasons 2-8. She became Nick's girlfriend before his death and was a strong yet cautious survivor.
Garcia is known for her roles as Sofia Lugo in Prison Break, CSI: NY, 50 States of Fright, Supernatural, Spiked, Baby Money, and more. She also hosts The Danay Garcia Podcast and has written a short film, The Cure.
Austin Amelio - Dwight
Dwight was portrayed by Austin Amelio and was the second crossover character. Dwight, a former member of Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) Saviors, would crossover to FTWD in season 4. His main goal was to reunite with his wife Sherry who escaped Negan's clutches. The couple suffered great losses especially that of their son Finch in the final season.
Amelio is well known for his roles in Everybody Wants Some, Hit Man, No Future, Stumptown, Holler, and more. His current project, Bunnylvr, premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. On March 9, he will star in a Max original series, When No One Sees Us.
Christine Evangelista - Sherry
Sherry was portrayed by Christine Evangelista and followed her husband Dwight's story into FTWD from the main series. Their reunion was strained, and together, the couple was a great apocalyptic survival team. Sherry survived the end of the series and she and Dwight had plans to return to the Sanctuary, the former headquarters of the Saviors, with big plans.
Evangelista is also known for her roles in Mrs. Fletcher, Erase, The Arrangement, and more.
