Fans of Fear The Walking Dead won’t want to miss The Complete First Season Blu-Ray and DVD Special Edition set, which is full of extras and bonus features from the hit show.

With season 2 of Fear The Walking Dead ready to premiere on AMC on April 10, 2016, there is no better time to get caught up on everything that happened up to this point. While the standard edition DVD and Blu-Ray set of the season 1 is good for watching the episodes that aired on television, fans of the show will want to pick up the special edition set, available for purchase on March 22, 2016.

Thanks to the great folks at Anchor Bay, Undead Walking was able to get an advance copy of the 2-disc Fear The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season Special Edition Blu-Ray set to review, and it was spectacular. It has all of the features of the standard edition, including all 6 episodes of season 1, along with several other special features, featurettes, commentaries, and alternate versions.

Big fans of the series will especially enjoy the audio commentary that accompanies each episode from the cast and crew of the show. Some of the stories from filming from cast members like Kim Dickens, Elizabeth Rodriguez, and Alycia Debnam-Carey are fantastic peeks into how the show is made and how the cast members interact.

The deleted scenes collection leaves a little to be desired, but considering there were only 6 episodes in the first season of Fear The Walking Dead, it is hard to get upset with the quantity of scenes included. Still, the scenes themselves are nice glimpses at what the full episodes could have been like if they weren’t removed from the final product.

More from Undead Walking

As far as the featurettes and bonus features go, there are seven great options for fans to choose from. Here is a list of all the extra video included on the two-disc set:

Of the list, Quarantined and FEAR: The Beginning are the two extras that really stand out.

FEAR talks about how all the characters are reacting to the things around them, comparing the events of the series to those in The Walking Dead and real-life situations. Hearing the cast and crew of the show discuss their own characters in this way and give insight into how they feel the characters are reacting to the events unfolding around them.

On the other hand, Quarantined dives deep into the events that happen in the episodes where the military set up a fenced-in area to help protect the people as well as keep the walkers out. It discusses the hope the characters were given by the armed forces coming in, as well as how things fell apart when promises were broken. This was by far a the best special feature in the set.
