THE WALKING DEAD NEWS: Dead City, AMC Upfronts and more

In less than a month, fans will gather for the last season premiere of Fear the Walking Dead. On May 14, AMC will air episode one of season eight of the first spinoff series in The Walking Dead universe. AMC+ subscribers can watch this episode on May 11.  It will be a bittersweet time for fans of that series. The Walking Dead: Dead City will premiere following the midseason 8 finale of Fear TWD on June 18.

The Walking Dead: Dead City had some significant updates this week. Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who play Maggie and Negan in that series, attended the AMC Upfronts and shared some new tidbits about the series. Morgan squelched the rumors that Maggie and Negan would have a romantic relationship stating, “They’re not getting married, you know what I mean?” He would continue to say that Maggie needs his help to rescue Hershel (Logan Kim)  “…at least that’s the story she’s giving him.”

Another exciting bit of news was shared by newcomer Mahina Napoleon who plays Ginny in Dead City. In an interview with Midweek, she stated she would return to New York later this year to begin filming season 2 of Dead City. The second season has yet to be confirmed by AMC.
