Daryl Dixon season 2 finale - Where did everyone end up?
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has closed The Book of Carol chapter of the series. The six-part second season was a wild ride, and the finale set up events for the upcoming third season, which is being filmed in Spain.
During the first two seasons of The Walking Dead spinoff, Daryl (Norman Reedus) encounters many new faces, several of whom were killed along the way, but he also made many new friends. This season also reintroduced Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) to the storyline and her new friend Ash (Manish Dayal).
Viewers are excited to see what's to come as the end of the season saw Daryl and Carol depart France via the Chunnel. They will eventually make their way to Spain, but not before an "interesting stop" in England.
What happens to the characters in Daryl Dixon season 2 finale?
Carol and Daryl survive the hallucinations brought about by the guano, bat feces, they were exposed to in the Chunnel. They both experienced highly emotional visions which helped process traumas they have endured. They will now head through the tunnel to England and then on to Spain.
Isabelle, who died in an earlier episode, became very important to Daryl along his journey through France. She visited him in his visions and encouraged him to continue his path.
Ash and Laurent were able to flee France in Ash's plane. Their destination, America, more specifically, the Commonwealth. Daryl wanted Laurent to experience a normal life outside the one he lived in France where everyone thought he was some kind of messiah. The CW will give him a much more stable life where he can make friends his age, attend school and more.
Fallou met a woman, Akila, and his path led him to remain in France with her and search for her sister, Djamila. As leader of the Montmartre Rooftop Community, he was instrumental in keeping Laurent safe and ensuring that the boy left France safely.
Codron had the biggest redemption arch in this series. When he was introduced he was hellbent on exacting revenge on Daryl, who he believed killed his brother Michel. He did unspeakable things along his journey but when he encountered Laurent, something changed in him. In the end, he too, experienced hallucinations in the Chunnel and was last seen chasing after a vison of his dead brother.
Genet, Losang, Anna, and Jacinta all served as villains in this season, and all ended up dying for what they believed in, even though some of those beliefs became quite twisted over time.
The second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon gave fans what they were looking for: a Carol and Daryl reunion. Their story will continue in season 3, which is expected to be released on AMC and AMC+ in 2025.
