Lowell, Massachusetts filming location for The Walking Dead: Dead City

Fans of The Walking Dead: Dead City are flocking to the Boston area to catch a glimpse of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lauran Cohan, and other cast members. The series is set in New York, with the first season filming in New Jersey and the second currently filming in Massachusetts.
If you search social media, you will find many videos and selfies from the set of the Negan and Maggie focused series Dead City. Kendell Cooper Casting posted a casting call for the series for local residents of the Boston area to be background actors in the upcoming season. They are seeking people of all ages and ethnicities to portray walkers, soldiers, post-apocalyptic survivors, and various other extra roles for filming through July 2024.

Dead City season 2
Dead City is the first direct spinoff of The Walking Dead, which continues the story of longtime enemies Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). The first season saw them team up to rescue Maggie's son Hershel (Logan Kim) from a man from Negan's past, The Croat (Željko Ivanek).
The second season will pick up where events of the first left off with Negan in the presence of The Dama (Lisa Emery), a powerful woman living in the apocolyptic ruins of Manhattan. She desires Negan to use his talents to allign with her to take over Manhattan.
The first season saw Maggie in a much different state than that of the final episode of The Walking Dead. She left the Hilltop Colony to create a new commuity known as The Bricks, located in an old brick factory somewhere near New York. Her relationship with her son is strained due to her obsesssion with taking down Negan. After betraying Negan, where she secured her son's release by offering Negan to The Croat, she vows to end things with Negan to mend things with her son.
The second season will also introduce another New York gang leader, Bruegel, portrayed by Sons of Anarchy actor Kim Coates. Bruegel is an intelligent and manipulative man who is the leader of one of the fiercest gangs in Manhattan.
The Walking Dead: Dead City will return to AMC and AMC+ in 2025.
