Fear the Walking Dead: A guide to the first season
By Susie Graham
Episode 4
Take a look at the promo for episode 4:
The Calvary’s arrived and things will get better was where we left off. Well things looked better when we returned. According to Chris, our safe-zone Milton/historian-on-the-rooftop, filming his “end-of-the-world” journal, it has been 9 days since the lights went out in Los Angeles.
Travis is out for a jog, Nick is lounging in the pool. This is bigger denial and distraction than just taking out the garbage and playing Monopoly. Apocalyptic roles in the fenced in community are starting to form. Travis and his ex-wife Liza are focused on the big picture, the neighborhood at large. Liza is using her nursing school training and Travis is just trying to do whatever is necessary to keep things peaceful.
Madison is getting inquisitive and antsy. She seems to be connecting in philosophy with Daniel. They sense things aren’t quite right. Madison wonders why more hasn’t been done by the troops in 9 days to restore things like electricity and phone service.
Madison even takes a secret trip outside the fences to see what things look like on the outside. Daniel warns her that things may start to happen quickly if and when they go down.
Nick has been fooling Madison about being clean. A doctor comes and seduces Liza with compliments about her nursing skills and gets Liza to come with her to the hospital, leaving her son Chris behind, after arranging a sneaky and mandatory extraction of Nick and Griselda to the hospital as well unaccompanied by any of their family members.
